About the Department
Department of History was established as a complementary department to deliver the history-based curriculum of UG and PG programmes of University of Calicut. Currently the department is headed by Mr. Muhammed Kamil T.P since 2011. The learning objective and programme outcome of the curriculum has been effectively attained and the institute possess adequate resources for the students both as library reference texts and online resources. Apart from the curriculum, the department actively organizes various debates, discussions, quiz, seminars and conferences on relevant topics. The activities of the departments focus mainly on student centric programmes to get familiarized with concept of the syllabus and to inculcate the salient features of Indian history.
