SAFI INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED STUDY (AUTONOMOUS), Malappuram supports a dynamic research environment that promotes scientific inquiry, innovation, and knowledge creation.

The institution encourages faculty members and scholars to undertake socially relevant research that contributes to scientific advancement and sustainable development.

Recognizing the research infrastructure and academic expertise available at the institution, the University of Calicut has approved SAFI INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED STUDY (AUTONOMOUS) as a Research Centre in selected disciplines.

As per the University Order dated 23rd May 2025, the Departments of Biotechnology and Microbiology have been granted recognition as Research Centres of the University of Calicut for a period of five years (21 May 2025 – 20 May 2030).

These research centres enable scholars to pursue doctoral (Ph.D.) programmes under the guidance of approved research supervisors, contributing to advanced research in life sciences.
